On April 1st, 2023, families are invited to Family Reading Day in James Weldon Johnson Park! This free event will feature special guest appearances, a book giveaway, face painters, and balloon artists, as well as a free boxed lunch from Firehouses Subs. Young readers are also invited to dress as their favorite book character and to participate in a Book Character Parade!

Vendors at the event will share a variety of literacy-related services and tools for all members of the family. This is also a great opportunity for you to get a library card!
