Mary Hickson
Mary Hickson is an attorney practicing as an Assistant Public Defender where she is currently the Director of Juvenile Court for the Office of the Public Defender Fourth Judicial Circuit. She has been an attorney since 2001 and has practiced in County Court, Circuit Court, and Juvenile Court. She has held numerous positions including Division Chief in Circuit Court and Juvenile Court and has been assigned to special divisions like Special Defense and Repeat Offender Court. Ms. Hickson has had wide jury trial experience representing the indigent accused from misdemeanors to homicides. She attended Florida State University for her undergraduate degree and the University of Florida Levin College of Law for her Juris Doctorate degree. She is licensed to practice law in the State Courts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of The Florida Bar, Jacksonville Bar Association and the D.W. Perkins Bar Association. She is also currently a member of The Gault Center Advisory Council and the Duval/Nassau County Community Alliance. In addition, Ms. Hickson serves on the boards of the Duval Regional Detention Center Board and the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Fourth Circuit Advisory.
